213.6 on a Sunday. This is good!

Yesterday was a good diet day, went over RDI a bit, but it was all whole good foods for the most part.

I have taken to roasting almonds. They are plentiful and cheap here by the Kilo, so I found I can salt & roast my own in 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven by coating with a lil olive oil & sea salt. I took this a step further by throwing on some "better living through chemistry" Ranch Powder, and some VERY hot sauce I have, and made some spicy ranch almonds. They came out very nice. Whole family was impressed.

Next time I want to try Garlic, but that requires Garlic Powder, not something we keep around (prefer fresh, always around).

Just got in from a 16 mile bike ride in tha AM heat. Its 97 degrees now, at 0830AM. So it was probably low 90's on my ride. That is cool here. I kind of get off on the heat. Since I train in it non-stop all year, its not much of a concern as long as I have my camelbak and enough water. I have money in my bag, and cold stores mapped out on my routes, so I am good there. You get acclimatized to the heat in just about 14 days I read on a mountain bike blog by some physiologist or somebody smart. I truly believe that. Lately, on the 25 milers, I need my 3L camelbak, and a 1.5 liter of water in my bag to refill. Lets not talk about how I am not supposed to drink in public during Ramadan. lol

Morning time the humidity is manageable. That all being said, when I get home, my skull cap is literally dripping sweat. I can wring out probably 1/4 cup of sweat, its nasty. And once I stop moving and come inside, sweat pours off. While riding, I guess the wind keeps it evaporating, and the body does its job of cooling off. Anyway, its kind of neat.

I used to get heat or dehydration headaches after my rides, but even those are subsiding unless I do 2+ hours in said heat.

Later today we are going to see a colleagues new Baby! Calvin is not even a week old! I like seeing babies, and we are a close knit group of friends overseas like we are. Its odd and nice at the same time. Every-bodies families are so far away.

Those almonds sound so good!! I'm going to have to try roasting my own someday.. As you were talking about your water consumption, I was thinking to myself, "Isn't it still Ramadan??" and then I saw the last sentence of that paragraph - hahaha.. Hope you had fun visiting baby Calvin!! (That's my youngest nephew's name!!)
