fitness for the army update:
requirements: 13 push-ups in 2 minutes 47 sit-ups in 2 minutes 19:42 2 mile run
me: 10 push-ups in 2 minutes 38 sit-ups in 2 minutes 2 mile run TBD
ok the data I entered was the control. I simply set the timer for two minutes and did what I could with no prior training. I think I did pretty well. Before I did work out but I would normally focus on my legs. My core was my second priority. My arms...not so much. Push ups are very difficult for me because of my weak arms! and they are quite bony. But 10 push-ups are not bad for a start.
I did think I would do pretty well for the sit-ups. I almost reached 47 under 2 minutes. But I got really sore. I guess ill work on my core more often now.
so I'm sure you've noticed that I didn't do a control test with the run. that is because I current have no place to run, no treadmill, and no way to tell how far I've gone. However, the college I go to has a track field I could run on and rows of tredmills I could pick from. I was planning to test how far I can run with the equipment they have there when I start school this semester.
Overall, I am pretty happy with my results. and I have a lot of time to improve. This first test is a great motivation for the journey ahead.
