Day 2
Went 9 calories over. Not bad. Been off bread and flour for 2 wks. Need support/advice to eliminate night snacking. Crunchy salt then sweet then salt yadda yadda. Like seeing the support, kindness fun and pics this community has for each other ... made putting "me" out there less scary.

What's encouraging me is THIS! I never expected such truly caring and thoughtful responses. Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to a stranger! I gush. So many ideas! Starting with documenting everything , drinking water before eating and loading more protein at dinner. Developing shopping list of your tips and asking for more. Thanks!

I have a canister of pistachios in the shell handy for a crunchy snack. I usually have 1/4 cup (before shelling) of pistachios when I'm craving a salty crunchy snack. good fat and fibre and because you have to shell each one you're likely to eat less

Hi, just a friendly advise, base to what I’ve been doing I don’t keep things in my pantry that is going to jeopardize my diet. We all know our weakness so don’t bring it at home that right there eliminate snacking junk foods. If you really like to snack something keep some baby carrots or fruits. Best thing yet just a spoon of peanut butter then drink plenty of water and go to bed to avoid more temptation. Lol! It works with me. Most of the time anyway when I feel hungry and already lying down on my bed and just when I plan to grab something to snack on I drop a asleep, lol 😂. Also, if you eliminate the snacking at night you’ll be surprise how much weight you lose at the end of the week. It takes time but it can be done. Just crawl then walk before you know you’ll be running. Good luck!

All of these are great tips ! Love the nuts for salty and baby carrots or fruit for sweet. Oftentimes I'll make smoothies with frozen fruit chunks and some protein powder. I also drink water with psyllium seed husks mixed in (for my cholesterol), but it also makes you feel full, don't know if that would help or not. Keep up the good work !

It’s easy to say don’t keep unhealthy food in the pantry I don’t normally keep unhealthy things in the house but when other people have children it’s not as easy as that but when there’s just you in the house yes it’s a quick fix to say don’t bring the food in th house

My mom and my granddaughter, her husband and three kids (sometimes 2 extra kids) live in my house. There is always junk in my house!

LOTS and LOTS of water! All day and night. That keeps down my cravings. I too am a night-time sugar consumer! Yuck for me. :( We don't allow chocolate in the house nor anything with processed sugar. That said, shhhhhhhh..... I do keep those Trader Joe's small chocolate bars with krispy rice in my bag, hidden. Another thing I am learning about weight loss is KEEP BUSY. For me, it is the hand-to-mouth thing. If I can be doing something with my hands I think less of food.

I struggle with just plain breaking the habit. I usually eat a something as I am going to bed. So when I don't eat on the way to bed it is a real hard 'fight'. Since there is no good reason for that bite, it is hard to reason with myself. I have been doing a couple of spoonfuls of homemade full fat yogurt. Seems to get me out of the kitchen and to bed without too much damage. I have been charting this habit. That also seems to hold me back. Since I began charting there hasn't been any candy.... that's good!

For night snacking, I find if I brush my teeth a little early, it limits my nighttime snacking and only enables me to drink water because I dont want to brush my teeth again 😅
