What supplements does everyone take these days? I used to load myself with a ton of stuff but Ive narrowed it down to calcium, vitamin d, cla, fish oil, calcium and glucosamine (the one for healthy bones and joints). I'll also do a little preworkout before the gym but nothing after bc Im worried about it slowing my loss. I do however keep atkins shakes in the fridge for days after the gym when I need something. Does anyone take any of those instant ketones like Ketoburn? Saw some on Amazon with EXCELLENT reviews and thus sparked this post..Im not looking for any kind of instant fix. I just know that I like the way vitamins make me feel over all.

On a side note.. I had a horrible afternoon yesterday. Ended the day on the phone with my attorney regarding my ongoing divorce and it made me basically ruin the whole evening my current DH had planned and I even went as far as cancelling some dinner plans because I was so upset. How is this important? I did not binge eat. Even though I wanted to.. bad...I didn't drink either which is always a possibility these days. I didn't raid the fridge in the middle of the evening other than some cream cheese and I logged it.. which probably helped bc the scale was down this morning. Im posting this bc Im seriously making a HUGE effort to catch myself when I want to emotionally eat.. and its working.. and its HARD. But today is a new day... :)

Yeah it can be hard. Food as fuel is a hard habit to get into... As for supplements. On keto I need magnesium and a bit of potassium (that I get from a substitute salt). So much water goes in and out cells so some minerals need to be replenished. It take collagen as well and right now I think I believe it is doing strengthening. I do not do any ketones since I do not need them. My body makes them in sufficient quantities for me to control my eating

A balance diet will give you all the supplements you need

I do not take supplements unless advised by a doctor, and even that's a short time. I get mine from foods I choose. If I feel like I'm lacking something, I choose a food for the supplement, not a pill. But, that's my choice. I'm a healthy well nourished person with no major medical issues, and with the hope of weight loss, it will continue. And I'm old, so it's been working so far! 🤓 But, that's just me.

my doctor has advised calcium and vitamin d since i have a deficiency on the vitamin d. Probably from working from home for 5 years and not getting enough sun. Same for the glucosamine - Ive had some broken bones and sometimes my knee gives out and dr suggested that might also help. Im still fine tuning the "balanced" diet part but Im confident I can work to be where I need.

Girl, I feel this so hard....the wanting to self-sooth with food and fighting hard not to eat my feelings. I'm also going through a break-up...no where near as messy as a divorce, but really shitty all the same. I've won the battle of not turning to food for comfort OR starving myself, and that is a huge win. Do lots of self-care... meditate, time in nature, exercise, journal, yoga, baths, massages....whatever works for you. I've found that to be ridiculously helpful.

THANK YOU CHRISTINA..I needed to hear that there are other people on this site dealing with the same thing..Im barely starting to work on me again.. getting nails done or a new outfit here and there but it's been a struggle. My self esteem was shattered...and Ive felt so unworthy on any kind of "self care" and just gave up. I was on this site before this happened and I'd like to say I thought I was a superstar.. at this point Im happy to be able to recognize that Ive been eating my feelings for almost 2 yrs. Im lucky I only gained 45 lbs and not the full 80 I lost..

Where I live, and how I avoid the sun and tanning, I always lack vitamin d. Our summers are very short as well. I have to take a vitamin d supplement daily or I’d be in trouble. Foods are not high in vitamin d, but if someone knows how to get it through food, and enough of it as a female, please tell me. Not all things are in food, vitamin d being one. You’d never be able to ‘eat’ enough vitamin d. None of these things are issues when you’re younger. I used to think I knew it all, but with age, comes more wisdom and knowledge.

One day at a time, redgirl. I've been there and working to overcome the asshole in my mind that says I don't deserve the very, very best is one of the hardest, but most rewarding, journeys of my life. Celebrate every victory, no matter how small. You deserve it. You're worth it. You are beautiful and whole just as you are 💗

I take Collagen with vitamin C supplements. They're big ol' horse pills that taste like broccoli 😆 ... that's it for now.

I used to take Calcium with vit D and vit. C. Doc took me off the vitamins and told me to get my vitamins naturally through food, because I wound up with kidney stones.

I use Vitamin B complex, Tumeric with biopeperine, airborne, and 1/4 of a serving of GNC lean Swiss chocolate powder in one of my coffees. I’m currently on 50,000 units of vitamin D a week because my level was a freaking 12😩.

Just a multivitamin, used to take flavored fish oil but I’ve been slacking. Oh and the diesel whey powder in pre gym shakes, really tasty and pretty clean

I take exogenous ketones with electrolytes when I fall of the Keto wagon. Gets me back on tract. I keep Magnesium glycinate by the coffee maker since Keto and coffee can lower your magnesium levels. Occasionally I take fiber supplements soluble and insoluble fiber. Turmeric for inflammation. A few herbs for stress (Schissandra, Skullcap, St.John's wort - I'm going through a life of attorneys too). Somedays I take a fist full of supplements and other days I don't take anything. I'm horribly inconsistent.

I will take vitamin D in the winter if I’m feeling sluggish and am not getting enough daylight.
