Not much to report, but it always is good to say hi so I'm just checking in with my buddies. I'm doing fine. I've had a head cold for the last few days, which has zapped my energy, but I think I'm on the mend. My husband had a birthday last weekend and I got him a new bicycle as a gift. He was totally surprised (which is a fun accomplishment on my part) and very pscyhed. Now that spring is here I'm hoping we can do some rides together. There's a nice bike path that goes through our town and into some other small towns in the area, which should be fun to explore.
One thing I didn't expect (although in retrospect I should have seen this coming) is that my husband was so excited about his gift that he and my older daughter went for an impromptu bike ride around the neighborhood... which led my 3 year old to burst into tears and howl that she needed a new bike too! Funny how I expect her to be jealous of her sister, but it didn't occur to me that she would be upset about Daddy getting a fun present. Oh dear. Luckily we broke out the tricycle and that all worked out. :)

Hi Herbie! It's good to hear from you. That was a great gift idea for your husband. Funny about your 3 year old's reaction. Glad you're on the mend from your cold. Your chart gives me hope that I can maintain after I reach my goal. Please share your secrets for success when you have time!

lol Yes, I think we have FOUR kids bike in our car-less garage, so that everyone has something to ride depending on what fits their mind size for the day. lol Glad you're feeling better... my hubby has a head cold again, and is just thrilled about it. Think it'd be great if we all could go for rides, but don't think hubby is quite there. ;)

Sounds like a great present. And just another great thing to spend time together AND get some great exercise. I got a new bike last year, but now my husband says he needs one too. Hopefully we can do that soon and all take family bike rides. Riding a bike just kind of takes me back to my childhood. I LIVED on my bike in those days!!

sorry I haven't kept up with my buddies! Glad you're doing great..and the bike was a great present! Funny to read about the little one's story---glad it all worked out though!
