Yesterday I found out I have gestational diabetes. I'm currently 29 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first baby (it's a boy!). I was so emotionally upset yesterday all day. See I go to a birth center and in order to remain in their care and deliver at the center you have to be low risk. Having GD puts me at high risk. I will have only so many weeks to control my blood sugar (glucose testing like 5 times a day) with diet and exercise. If I cannot then O would lose my ability to remain with them. I DO NOT WANT A HOSPITAL BIRTH. This has me so stressed. I have returned to FS so I can log and keep track of my carb/sugar intake. I have SPD so my ability to move briskly, frequently or more intensely is out of the question however I walk as much as I can and do yoga and hypnobirthing. I just needed to vent and get some support. I kept reminding myself all day today (and will continue to do) that 'a disappointment is not a disaster." Hopefully my diet modifications will control this and I can have the kind of birth I envision. Send me good vibes only.

What kind of diet modifcation do you have to do? Hopefully you can get it under control.

I have to drastically cut carbs and sugar from diet. Only have 165-180g of carbs a day. My glucose checks have to be under 120 for meals and 95 for morning fast. I removed white bread, rice, OJ, cereal, milk, and certain fruits ( ie watermelon). I hope this helps

Well I do 20 carbs so it is doable. maybe think about building your breakfast around a protein (like egg) or if you do like grains use real oats or make your own granola with real grains and nuts. Your cuts sounds right on to me
