The adventure is in the journey....for me. You got this...and it is flighting. I am finding my maintenance watch...tedious. On the up side, I have a lot more time for my life outside of food. Really love it.

Judyrose1997– you are so right. What I see in my own world, among my own friends with obesity and diabesity is that they aren’t in good enough physical condition to do all the wild and fun things that our crowd used to do. More and more they have come to the situation where their idea of getting together to “do something” pretty much involves meeting for dinner or lunch. You can guess how well that is working out.

I agree Judyrose and Kenna Morton!!! Maintenance is challenging and those who succeed take it as seriously as weight loss. I have been in maintenance for a couple of years now and it's still takes effort. Obese friends, family and acquaintances are very likely to not be able to keep up with your activity. They are likely not to encourage or support your way of eating either. No worries, keep going and live your best life!!!

Great words of encouragement. It's nice to know I'm not in this alone. Thanks folks 😁

Your right John. effort, habit and making a personal choice. So important to have a WOE That “fits” you and that you actually like. You can’t go through life in a state of deprivation. It just doesn’t work. People who have health issues that require them to eat a certain way do what they have to do, but the rest of us are lucky enough to have a CHOICE to try to avoid some of the common health pitfalls related to diet and inactivity.

You are doing so well... Just so constant. John17251, I am going to print out a poster of your words. "maintenance is challenging, and those who succeed take it as seriously as weight loss." I need that plastered to the inside of my eyelids and on every mirror of my house. I know it, but that is a tight little proverb I need to always remember. Kenna, I so know that depravation is the killer, so I've tried to lose weight in the way I believe I can live the rest of my life.

So true - maintenance is more difficult than weight loss. My strategy: If I get to the upper limit, I take action with a 2 or 3 day cut. I never want to get to the point again where I have 40 lbs to lose!
