I love buying fresh ingredients, making a menu for the week and preparing the food myself! I used to do this - make the food that is - but I'd not take much cognisance of what I was doing or putting into the meals. They were mostly slapped together with preserved (canned) or pre-made things. I’ve changed all that. There’s nothing on TV usually so it goes off. I chuck a CD into the player and cook by whatever music takes me. Last night it was Hot Cous-cous Salad and Grilled Chicken Breast to Mike & the Mechanics. I failed yesterday though…it was my boss’ birthday and he brought various savouries, pastries and cakes to work for the occasion. Next time, and there will be a next time…Next time I won’t have anything and stick strictly to the huge mound of food I bring to work. See? There it is. I bring plenty enough food of the right type and shouldn’t be led astray by satan’s little pastries!
I moved, hauled and did whatever else one does when re-arranging a house over the weekend. It felt phenomenal having the energy and strength to do normal useful things! I haven’t felt so good in, well, 20 years?
That’s a long time to be ‘absent’.
