I will be making the long ride home later today.
My mommy is out of ICU. She is awake and alert and will make a good recovery.
It’s been an awfully long week, full of worry, doubt and fear. A terribly trying time, especially for my dad.
It’s been surreal coming home for a reason such as this.
Mortality is a scary thing to face.
Let’s all live the healthiest lives that we can and be with the ones we love for as long as possible!

Kenna- very tough times! Now I am home 500 miles away from her and my dad. I hope to get back to them soon, at least to help get her settled in when she’s able to go home. It’s a worry for sure

Dlewis, I lived 300 miles away when my Mom was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer . . . then my brother with MRSA sepsis, both in 2015

GZ- being far away is hard. Now that I’m home, I feel helpless. I know that she’s in good hands at the hospital, but being there I could help her with the little things. My dad and two brothers help her, but not in the way she likes. I can spoil her lol
I’m so sorry for you and the struggles your family has faced. It takes so much to cope, physically and emotionally.
I came home five pounds heavier and I have slept fifteen hours and I still feel tired. My heart aches not being there.

I'm glad to hear your Mom is doing well in her hospital, and that she has your Dad and others for support.
My Mom's situation was not as good, and my sister and I still feel guilty we didn't drop everything and fight harder. The cancer doctor didn't order tests that he should have and basically gave up on her.
