Totally appropriate dress for pnw! My sis got married there, and that was basically how we were instructed to dress for the groom's dinner, haha. Gotta agree that the snarky comments are unwelcome. @ccc, while your mom was disciplining your brothers about manners 50 years ago, did she ever mention the old saying that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?

CCC, your first comment was so pointedly derogatory that I deleted it. In an effort to keep things as lovely as the people here, I'm tempted to try to remove the whole conversation related to the first comment, but it might be rude of me to do so. I will say that those bars were actually a gift for Chris, and before eating he shared them graciously with anyone who would like them. Thank you to all the wonderful people who understand our climate and clothing culture here and love and respect out Chris!

Keyten, you forgot when dhatura and I first met, Jan 17. We live ten minutes away from each other! 😁 Moo and keyten, I grew up having these Nanimo bars in Canada. They are great and easy to make. The tricky bit is the custard powder I have to order online because, although available on every Canadian grocery store, it is tough to find south of the border. I did make two batches.... One to practice on my family and one to feel confident might have hope to come close to Newduggan's professional standards! 😁 ❤️
