Primalkid's Logboek, 01 jul 13

Today's workout went amazingly! It was legs & core day and I couldn't have asked for a better routine setup. Granted I am doing a deload for the initial two weeks of this cycle and thus working with sub-maximal weights, but I could definitely still feel the muscle work and had a great burn going.

Alternating squats / calf raises & RDL / seated calf raises went perfectly. The calf work didn't impact my main lift performance (I know this from past MEsearch) and it cut a ton of time off the routine length. The V-squats really made my quads burn, and the lying leg curls similarly nailed my hamstrings and gluts during the peak contraction.

The ab work went really well too. Quick and not overly taxing. Overall I was in-and-out of the gym in about an hour. Perfect. Really looking forward to tomorrows workout!

Also found a great carb front-load meal for when I'm sitting in class: potatoes. I mash two pounds and mix with sliced steak for some meat and potatoes. Delicious. Also drank a ton of water today, so I'm glad (64oz between 9am and 11am alone lol)
