Although it's been hot, humid, and rainy, this morning was relatively nice with a good stiff breeze blowing through. Dogs went for partial mileage with me and I completed the full 3.1 miles......and then went for a dip in the pool! Seems like forever since I've been in there and I felt it's about time. After all, if one has a pool, one should USE it!

DH has had long weekends and has been hogging the office and computer, trying to learn the software to computer-tune his car. So, while it may look like I'm online, I'm really not. :(

Believe it or not, the lawn needs mowing - AGAIN!!! Well, the truth is I just did the backyard on Friday, but the front yard has not been mowed in well over a week. I'm toying with doing it later this afternoon, but there's a lot of other stuff to handle before then.

DH and I have, not one, but TWO, dinners out this weekend. Yikes. The first on Friday night is a catered dinner, so who knows what will be on the menu. There's no chance to check things out beforehand, so we'll plan accordingly. The dinner on Saturday is at an Italian restaurant. The menu looks positively wonderful, except that I could find only 1 entrée that "might" be low-carb-friendly. Of course, they have the obligatory house salad, Caesar salad, and Caesar salad with chicken or shrimp. But I had so hoped there might have been something other than salad.....salad at a restaurant is so boring....and expensive, for what it really is. Oh well. I'll survive. I can always hope for a daily special that is a grilled fresh catch.

Well, gotta run. Need to get some of these chores done if there's even a chance of me getting to the lawn.

Bren, I may have to get my own laptop before too long. Just wish the techies would realize there's a HUGE baby-boomer/buying population that needs things BIGGER so we can actually see the icons more readily! LOL! We just got a different keyboard with the new computer that's got extra large letters and numbers - PLUS....it's lighted in a choice of colors! Now, THAT'S something I love! Hope you just get rain without the storms tonight.

Oh Sandy..thats what bifocals are for...LOL...or magnifying glasses..Sorry I had to say that...my glasses are having to be stronger and stronger over the years...and I do carry a magnifying glass in my purse so I can read labels...I used to have perfect vision before I turned 50..:O)

LOL>..I made the leap just a few months ago & got myself several pair of "cheaters" or reading glasses. Great to have, rotten to need, BUT, they are not totally expensive. I have been wearing glasses since 4th grade. Even now, I have bifocal glasses & contacts...but when I am tired, even with the bifocal contacts...I use the cheaters, makes the spreadsheets & tiny print WAY much easier.

Bren, I've got readers all over the house, as I refuse to wear those neck chain things. I just brought out some 3.5's to use for really close work, but otherwise I'm somewhere in the 2.5+ range. I tucked a tiny pair into my purse so I can use them on restaurant menus, as well as reading labels at the grocery store. I hate having to do that, but if I can't read the fine print, then that's what I've got to do. Bummer.

GG, I bought my first pair of readers at an eyeglass shop, not knowing that I could find them at any bigger store! They (the eyeglass store) never mentioned that I could get them elsewhere for a lot less $$!!! Anyhoo....now I keep my eyes open (LOL!) and buy boxes of 3 or 4 pair when I see them on sale or at a good price, like at Sam's or TJMaxx. I'm fortunate to see just fine (or at least I think I do) without any other correction....just need the magnification.
