Ughh...I am WAY discouraged....I don't know if anyone out there has experience with carb cycling but I am in my third week and I have not lost ONE pound!
I was on the Belly Fat Cure for 10 weeks and I lost 13 lbs but I hit a plateau. I did some research and discovered that Carb Cycling is a great way to get past the plateau on a diet so I spent weeks reading about it and have come up with a plan for myself that I put into action every day and yet, not a single pound shed in three weeks! What's up with that?!
I DID read (and this is where someone with experience can tell me if this is true or not) that what happens with Carb Cycling as opposed to LOW to NO Carb diets, is that you lose FAT and NOT muscle mass so the scale may not show the results but the tape measure will. I have yet to measure myself but I guess I should do that tonight.
Anyways...that sounds logical. I mean, with the amount of protein i am taking in I would assume that my muscles would be spared where as with traditional low carb/no carb diets , protein intake is never really the key factor of the diet so you lose valuable musle along with fat AND Water....
I am just crabby becuase I have gone almost 14 weeks with NO SWEETS and maybe a very occasional refined carb (I had a tortilla yesterday! Shame shame....but it was my carb day! LOL!) and today we had a fire drill at work. We walked down 16 flights of stairs and our reward (aside from not burning up in the "towering inferno") was TWO GIANT COOKIES....UGHH....I really wanted to eat a cookie...I am so discouraged that I thought...."why the hell not?!" BUT...alas...I passed on the cookie. I am proud of myself but I am getting tired of waiting to see the last 12 lbs melt off. I am working so hard!
Plus I have incorporated exercise into my routine also....I am afraid eventually I am going to give up if I have nothing to show for all my hard work.
So I will measure myself tonight and from here on out I will give the old "inches off" instead of numbers on the scale thing a test drive.

Yes, it's entirely possible to lose fat and not see the scale move. My friend went down 4 sizes without losing on the scale for months. No matter which diet you are on, taking in too many calories can also cause you to not lose, so I would look in to that. Drink plenty of water. See how your clothes are fitting. Giving up will only get you back to where you started. Patience and persistence will get your to goal. Think of your body as a work in progress. You will forever have to work on it. It takes a long time to lose weight, fat and become strong and lean. You have to keep changing things up and pushing through. You will get there eventually but will always have to watch what you eat and exercise. Those last pounds can be the hardest. Just keep going. You are doing great.

Thanks Suzi :-) In my heart I know that you're right. It's just that when I was younger it was much easier! I am older now and my body probably wants this extra padding to protect the old bones! LOL! I wont give up! I promise...i just get grumpy once in a while and throw out silly threats. lol! I have worked too hard to stop now.

I lost 12 lbs on BFC! Hit a plateau and then gained 2 lbs. Took that off quickly tho, following that plan closely, but then hit that plateau again. So, I started Atkins Induction 2 weeks ago and lost 5 lbs. Thinking I will go back to BFC again and start working out with some weights. Can't do cardio right now, but will work up to that somehow. Surely this will help! BFC is sooo easy to do! You just count carbs and sugar grams.
