When you get home from work..ready to pass out..how exactly do you get motivated to work out? I'd love to hear what other people do. I'm ruling out working out in the morning..I wake up at 5:30 am as is..waking up any earlier probably means I shouldnt even go to bed!

I get up between 5:30 and 6am as well and I am NOT a morning person, infact I think that getting out of bed that early should be against the law lol but I made myself a promise to just work out as soon as I am home (I work out at home) and that way I dont sit down, because if I sit down I will not get back up. I find once I get into my work out (even if its just a simple walk) I have more energy.

Working out is a habit. It takes time to form habits. If you have a gym you go to, bring your gym bag and go directly after work. It will make you feel great once you are done. If you work out at home, have your clothes waiting for you. Put them on and go do your workout. It's a habit you form and after doing it a while you will miss it if you don't do it. You have to make a priority (like eating and sleeping). Plan and do it. If you don't have a treadmill or equipment, there are tons of dvd's that are 30 minutes or less. You can throw on some music and go for a walk.

I get myself to the gym by literally not thinking about it at all during the day. I pop home after work to get changed (I live on the way to the gym) and then I drive to the gym and walk in to the room where the class is held. Once I am in there I have a rule that I can't leave (plus I'd look like a total dork leaving a class halfway through). If I allow myself to think about how hard it's going to be, I will talk myself out of it. So I kind of try to do it on auto-pilot. It seems to be working. Once I have been to the gym for a couple of weeks, and start noticing some changes (better mood, more energy, more motivation, etc) then it makes me kind of want to go. And that's a big thing for me because I used to hate exercise.

Ugh, I get up at 3 every morning but I also get home early too... My thing is restarting after I get off, kick up my feet for fifteen minutes, check my email and have a cup of coffee or an energy drink (bad I kno) like I'm waking up all over again, and turn up the slacker radio (online personalized radio) on my phone and head back out.
