My weight is now 296.7, up 1.7 lbs. I know I haven't cheated and my body is just struggling to stay at the higher weight. I used to get really down when the scale didn't cooperate. But now I just use the scale to keep my on track. I know overall, it will go down. Daily weigh in, can be demoralizing if you let them, but I've done this so many times, it doesn't really phase me; Although I still get super happy when it goes down.

For me weight loss has to be an obsession for me to succeed. I can't just kinda do it. I have to go all out. I read stories, join groups, enlist friends all in a way to keep myself on track. This of course makes me feel even worse when I fail. However I truly believe weight loss is like quitting drugs or alcohol, it takes repeated attempts and failures to succeed. Hopefully I stick with it this time.

Funny thing, weight loss for me used to be about just looking better. I still want to look better, but as I get older, and fatter, its also become about feeling better. Tying my shoes, walking up stairs, having sex; all of these activities are easier when you are lighter. I just feel my life as a whole will be better as a smaller version of myself.

Fluctuations are normal (even when you are completely on plan. Our bodies are made of 60% water and our weight shifts all day long. Too much sodium one day can make the scale go up the next. Alcohol, exercise, medications. sickness, inflammation, lack of sleep, stress, etc. can all effect the scale. So good for you for not putting all the emphasis on the scale this time. If you stick with it, you will get to goal (no matter how long it takes.)
