CARDIOOOOOOO!!!!!

Ok so i am a firm believer in only doing what your body craves. This is not my first time losing weight. So one thing I know, is that if you eat clean, eventually you will have more energy and your body will crave exercise. Going to the gym when your body is telling you to is way better than going because you are just tried of being fat. So for the past few weeks I have been lifting weights. At the end, I never feel like running, like i think about it and my mind goes "Fool are you nuts! Take your fat ass home, this is good enough" So i just leave. Lately I have been waking up earlier. I am starting to have more energy. Yesterday I randomly did a few jumping jacks in my living room. No lie, I just started doing jumping jacks by myself. Weird how the body will tell you what it needs. You don't have to force it.

So this morning, I got up with a good amount of energy. I decided to go to the gym. Now my wife is used t me sleeping the morning away so me getting up at 7am was alarming to her, more alarming was me telling her I was going to the gym. When i got to the gym I did my normal stretches and weight lifting. Afterwards I looked at the treadmill and my mind said, "Go head kid, I can handle a little bit, but don't over do it big guy!". Wow I actually felt like running. I ran (and walked) a mile. I have experimented with HIIT before, so my cardio is always done that way. After 20 minuted I started to feel my body scream "I said take it easy!" So i got off and left. It felt good to run. It didn't feel like I was forcing it. In fact by the time I walked to my car I wanted to go back in and run more! But I was at my car so that wasn't happening.

My advice to anyone who had the time to read this. Listen to your body. Everyone has reccomendations for how long you should exercise or what you should do when you exercise. My thing is if you dread doing it, its so hard to keep doing it. Shit you are already dieting, now you have to exert will power to burn calories in the gym! I say fuck that. Do what you feel comfortable with. Shit if it's walking to the mail box, do that! Maybe walk past the mail box a few steps if it gets too easy. I really believe your body will tell you when to do more.

I wish it were that easy. My body says eat what you want and snuggle on the couch. But I don't get healthy doing that. I do agree you should listen to your body, but as far as fitness, you have to push yourself to see benefits and keep improving. Sometimes, I have to really force myself and I always feel better when I get my workout done. It is the most amazing feeling to workout hard and feel yourself getting leaner and stronger. You can really see the changes in your body. But I get what you are saying. I guess it comes down to doing what is good for each individual. Good luck with your weight loss!

It's a thin line. Yes, you have to push yourself. Sometimes you wont want to do it, and pushing yourself can have huge benefits. However there are tons of people out there who diet, don't exercise and get healthier (I wouldn't suggest this, but i know it happens) Invariably as they get smaller, they just WANT to work out. They start walking more, or participating in sports or whatever. If your cardio routine always makes you moan and is a pain, then doing it consistently is not going to work. All of the people I know that are really into running, or cross fit or biking, their body CRAVES that stuff. Are there times they do it when they don't want? sure, but for the most part their body is telling them to get out there and move. As far as the diet, no, you can't listen to your body. Many of us have bodies that are used to being fat and your body will tell you to eat sutff you shouldn't. In diet, listen your research! If i was advising anyone starting out, it would be to take it slow. Start out small and work your way up. Exercise is so much more fun when you want to do it (Its neccesary even you dont want to do it, but its more fun when you do) and if you take it slow, I think you will be more likely to get into a groove that makes you happy instead of one that you dread!
