Jstaparrothead's Logboek, 11 jan 14

Ridding the body of processed foods and sugars is both a mind and a body process, but I'm starting to think it may be more of a mind addiction for me. My body has adjusted to it better this time, but my mind? Not so much. The cravings are definitely coming from up there, which is an even bigger reminder that my body does NOT need that crappy food.

I am there with you. It was harder this time. Finally, after a week, I am not struggling. I'm not sure if it was the trip to the Farmer's Market, or not. We have a HUGE Farmers Market. It is "multi-cultural." It has Asian, Spanish, Turkish, Indian--you name it--fresh, frozen and boxed/jarred. I haven't been here in a while as it wasn't real great when it first opened. It's changed over the years and just really exploded into a really good source for fresh produce and cultural foods. I think what impressed me today, was the fact that it was difficult to find a parking space. I went in and WOW--to see all of these people buying fresh things--healthy--really impressed me. Of course I did buy junk food for the rest of the family, but I guess because I have so much "good" stuff, the other isn't even tempting me. Do you have any Farmer's Markets around you? Maybe if you were in the midst of everyone buying fresh, the processed wouldn't be so tempting?

Thanks for the comment back! I certainly appreciate the support, and lord knows every bit helps! :) Thankfully I do live in a very ethnically diverse area, so we have a ton of different type of grocers- my favorite being the Mexican grocery. The selection of meats and produce is amazing! I just really feel like I have a very acute sense of the "withdrawals" from the sugar and other nasty foods I've eaten (e.g. fast foods, sugars, etc.). I think that's been an even bigger reinforcer of the fact that I don't need that stuff.
