Following my diet closely .... maintianing the same .... still scrambling to lose the last 2 lbs... at least I am learning my 'maintianing' diet ahead of time --grin...

But my newest thing.. is how great CAYENNE is ... many, many good properties (http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/natural-health/benefits-of-cayenne-pepper/)... so now I add a tsp of cayenne pepper to each cup of coffee..still using some creamer with it .... IT REALLY TASTES GOOD !!!

What do ya'll think ? I was advised today that magnesium is good.. anyone have any experience with that ?

Have heard taking magnesium with calcium is very beneficial. I have tried sprinkling my coffee with cinnamon. I will try your cayenne. Is it hot?

I have just started taking magnesium with calcium and it has really made a great difference for me. No muscle cramps, better sleep and ahem .. my bathroom visits are a lot better! I take CALM - you mix 2 tsp with hot water and drink about an hour before you go to bed.

Cayenne? What does it do for you?

thanks for sharing! I've heard great things about cayenne and spices like tumeric and cumin

the coffee is not too 'hot' but it is a good wake me up the morning lol .. it helps with indigestion, weight loss (works on speeding up metbolism, helps with bad cholestrol (ldl),Joint-Pain Reliever, helps normalize blood pressure, for a few :) ... magnesium -- calm is that a brand name (I have many trips to the bathroom at night, just trying to drink all the required water)

Yes, CALM is a brand name. I try to drink all my water before 6 pm now that I learned the trick for not spending the entire night in the bathroom. CALM (I think it is under the Natural Solutions banner) helps me to sleep through the night and I usually don't get up for the bathroom anymore. I have it in about a cup of water (if that)

Be careful if you are thinking of taking magnesium. That can really throw your heart off. My advice, get tested to see what your level is first. It's like anything else--too much or too little of a thing can harm you. Magnesium and Potassium have huge effects on your heart rate. I'm learning the same thing about Iodine (thryoid). I will have to try the cayenne! I really believe in holistic foods/med's, but really research them. We have a wonderful mulitcultural Farmer's Market and they have things I've never heard of. They have Asian, Indian, Japanese, Turkish, Spanish--just to name a few things!

I am still trying to get my head around cayenne and coffee - but I'll try anything once! Thanks for the tip.

magnesium is awesome. i use a triple mag blend, three kinds of magnesium. it is in short supply in our food and diets due to depleting it in the soil. Has been cited to help with many ailments. It can have a laxative effect at first, but your body gets used to it...it is incredible for migraines. Check it out!

I take a magnesium calcium supplement. the magnesium helps with calcium absorption. I have to take it at night after I eat. It can upset your stomach. 3 capsules is recommended however it is usually a good idea to increase magnesium slowly because it can cause constipation. I also keep a bottle of just magnesium in my desk and at home as it can stop the beginning of a migraine. Would rather take that than pain meds. But it's only an occasional dose of the extra. Magnesium is one of those things that too much is not a good thing

I LOVE cayenne and cook a lot with it - I feel it really add a nice kick and flavor to most things especially on a good salad. Now as for putting it in my coffee - not sure on that - but may give it a try.

Interesting! I have a jar of it when hub accidentally bought it instead of paprika! Will be trying that!

I tried cayenne in my coffee this am. Had to add milk and a bit of sugar also I used my cayenne--home ground from dried peppers- seeds included it's much hotter than store bought. I used 1/2 tsp still burned my mouth! Definately woke me up! Unusual taste was pretty good but with my cayenne I'd need to cut it back a bit. I've been drinking coffe black lately.
