Has anyone else experienced too much of a good thing?
My friend challenged me with a WOE and the only thing on the list that i would be was potato, so I tried quinoa. I enjoyed some in a salad to sate me, with lots of baby greens and veggies. I take medication for high blood pressure and experienced a sudden drop to low, making me feel lightheaded and a bit headachy and feeling my heart beat. I had this kind of generous helping of salad for two days, dividing in between lunch and dinner with other items. Then I realized that I had chia seeds which I had forgotten about, and made a 2 Tbsp, chia pudding which I had for breakfast two days ago. In researching chia again (was a long time ago that I had) I found that it causes my medication to excel . The combo of new things were a fluke. But who ever knew too much of a good thing could kill you! It is pretty common knowledge about grapefruit interacting with meds.
Are there other good foods that we have to use with more knowledge? Has anyone else had this experience? The remedy for low blood pressure is to lie down with your feet higher than your heart to pump the blood to your head. A salty snack to spike your blood pressure will also help.
