Feeling totally depressed today. How could it be that I gained 3 pounds in 24 hours :0( Help!

Its just water weight and normal fluctuation throughout the day! Usually if I weight myself in the morning when I first wake up vs. at night after I already ate for the day, I'm usually up at least two pounds, but then it drops back down over night. Its normal! :)

i usually weigh once a week and that's the "official" weight. Weighing every day, you do run the risk of seeing "water weight" or the result of too much salt, not going to the bathroom enough etc. It can get too discouraging. Once a week counts and if you must weigh every day, (pardon my expression)take it with a grain of salt. lol

It will come off fast :) Drink lots of water. Did you eat anything salty? That can do it. You'll see your weight go up and down a lot, but it is the progress over time that counts :)

The best time to weigh yourself is right after you wake up and go to the bathroom. This is generally considered your most "natural" weight. If you do it like this each time you weigh yourself, it's like comparing apples to apples each time. The average person will weigh 2-4 lbs heavier prior to going to bed than when they woke up. thanks so much everyone. To answer your question megmonster, yes I did. Pringles sour cream and onion chips lol my fav ;o)

Wish you the best with the weight loss, also, something the note, Urbanbeach is right about when to weight yourself, I also only way myself Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you look at it literally daily, you will see a lot of fluctuation. Around the holidays I went up 5 pounds then down 6 then up 4 then down 5, that was literally every few days. Now that that is over with, seeing a lot more down.

High carb intake will throw you up a few pounds also. No worries, there is no way humanly possible to gain three fat pounds in twenty four hours, it's water.

If you remember nothing else, remember this: weight can fluctuate wildly and it can have NOTHiNG to do with your shape. Weight is fat, muscle, bone density, organs, water retained, etc etc. if you "gained" three measly pounds in 24 hrs, you can pee it out just that fast. There are better things to get depressed about... just sayin' ;)

I think sometimes the lbs. take over your mind a bit and you lose sight of being healthy and how good it feels... and the slightest fluctuation determines your whole mood. Hang in there, I agree with Ennaejay on this one :D
