Living2250's Logboek, 18 feb 14

Ate an egg, scrambled using Pam and half an Oroweat double fiber English muffin, and a tangerine. My goodness, I've forgotten has silky and good an egg can taste! Pinch me, it's the best breakfast I've had in a very long time!

I'm nearing my goal. My challenge comes next week when I'm traveling and can't control what I cook. I think I've got this though, as this kind of thing (travel) is normative and is just one variable amongst the many. I'm grateful to have lost this much weight and now want to keep it off.

I love the incredible, edible egg! Every morning I look forward to scrambled eggs with some feta cheese and spinach (and French press coffee of course). Definitely a highlight in the morning routine. Great job on the loss so far.... Keep on, keepin' on!

Thanks for the feedback! The breakfast routine sounds great KJLioness (Seems we have similar tastes: wine, french pressed coffee, etc.) and the idea of spinach and feta (in proper portions) sounds like an epic win! Onward, downward!

I buy the solid feta that has (8) 1oz servings. When I get it home, I eyeball it and cut it into 9ths - 3X3 (since I don't have a scale). I whip up two eggs, 1 T. of half and half, (1) "cube" of Feta, and a handful of spinach. In my calorie log, I "say" I had an once, but really it was just a tad less than an ounce. I try to estimate whichever way will benefit my weight loss. Feta is a wonderful cheese, with a strong flavor that you can get away with using more sparingly without sacrificing taste. TASTE is important!

For traveling I have heard some prepare there foods ahead of time and take with them so they don't eat out has much... I would think at least taking healthy snacks would be better than nothing and could keep you away from snack machines and gas station foods:) Hope this helps and Congrats on the weight loss!

Thanks, KJLioness for the feta tip! I do use a scale because I know what my eating habits were like before really paying attention to my health...they were bad, bad, bad (My weight loss chart tells the tale!)! But you are right about flavor and I find little things not only make food taste better, it's a little "lift" in the day. So, I'll give it a try. If memory serves me right, Trader Joe's has a "fat free" feta. As for traveling, my thanks to you, WickedTruth! I don't have to be a complete victim! I can carry portioned out snacks. I'll be gone for a week and then a week later gone again. I intend to stick to my goal and work it out!
