Kiki8123's Logboek, 21 apr 14

Monday back at work after Easter - I think all the parents brought in their kids extra Easter candy. What the heck - they didn't know how much they were giving them when they bought it?! Not only was there Easter candy, but a carrot cake from my favorite bakery. Made it thru the break room with just my apple. Until the afternoon when the intercom announced those dreadful words "it's time for April birthdays in the kitchen". I stayed out - luckily too busy to attend. When I went in later, there was lemon meringue pie and strawberry pie. Yummmm. Didn't have a bite. Got off work on time and went straight to the gym. Got in 30 mins on the elliptical and 30 mins on the treadmill. Even ran a couple of short intervals. I figure I'll work up to the running/jogging thing and see how I do. So, a good day overall. Hopefully, most of the candy and pies are gone by tomorrow. 🍥🍰

Excellent self control kiki, certainly something to be proud of!! I didn't buy my kids any candy that I liked lol. I figured they were going to get enough of the quality chocolates at my grandmas, no reason to give it to them at home where it will be calling my name as well. Great job at the gym too, you're really kicking ass :-) If you are wanting to build up your stamina jog more consider downloading a couch to 5K app on your phone. It builds you up slowly, week to week, increasing your stamina. Hope you have another kickass day :-)

Thanks, Yolanda! I must admit that I'm sometimes one of those people who bring leftovers into the office. It's just now registering how often that happens now that I'm trying to make better choices for myself daily and not just dieting. I have one of those apps but haven't used it yet at gym. I need to get a good music playlist downloaded to it as I need good upbeat music to run with to help the motivation. I think I'll work on a playlist later today.

Great job kiki!!! I had bought candy for the 14 year old...got into it myself...so I gave it to her a week early. Then 21 year old asked for basket. Hubby and I bought candy for that basket. Brought it home and put it in a basket with clear wrap over everything. If it is packaged I won't eat it! Then put it in her bedroom. Out of sight out of mind. Then I ate a few of the leftovers, very few. I am proud of myself. Did not ban myself...but controlled what I ate. I have about a week to the doctor appointment. Will see what I can do this week.

Does your gym have wifi? If so you can always download the slacker radio app. I listen to 'party hits' on slacker, generally lots of upbeat fast paced songs with limitless variety.
