Back in the saddle, concerted effort going on here--plus a new group challenge just started. Leona has gotten almost back to her pre-hospitalization, health-wise, so I need to get back into exercise and diet and journaling. They removed her catheter; she no longer needs bed baths, the bedside commode, the wheelchair or walker. Only the oxygen canula and that's even gotten to the point where I can remove it for and hour or two at a time and there are no ill effects.

She's still on Hospice care, and will continue so, even if all of her myriad of issues correct themselves completely (at least for her), then by dint of her dementia, she will remain on Hospice. For this, I am extremely grateful, as it allows me short periods where I have other grownups to confer with and just talk to. This group of people is absolutely, bar none, the BEST at what they do!

Two visiting nurses--each comes ones a week. Two social workers--each comes once a week. One gal who comes twice a week to give Leona her shower. One who comes once every two weeks (or when Leona wants it) for deep tissue massage. If I need a volunteer for a few hours just to get away, then I have that option, although I've only used it once, and that was to get the stitches out of my mouth from dental surgery.

So-o-o, I have literally no excuses anymore for not continuing on with my weight loss/healthier lifestyle. While I've not recorded many journal entries or kept track of my daily food intake, I have been aware of what I've been eating. Up to just a few days ago, I'd maintained my weight of 227 as I weighed in once a week to keep any eye on it.

That made me feel pretty darn good, as there were many times (like when I had that 3rd glass of wine) or just grabbed a handful of Triscuits and munched away; that I felt sure I'd started on the upward climb again. Until this morning, when I weighed in and it fluctuated between 229 & 230. In my defense, I ate a package of ramen noodles yesterday, WAY too much sodium in those things, but darn it!! They just tasted so good! And had a Klondike bar! And just ate regular foods the remainder of the day, with no salad.

Drinking my water now, which I also slacked off on, and already had 20+ oz of the daily 64 that I like to keep to this morning/afternoon. So, here we go!
