I need to spend the next couple of weeks figuring out what I am going to eat for the week of the 21st as I will not be up to making decisions that week. I have set up my alarms to remind me to take my medication, which also coincides with mealtimes. I won't have much money next week to spend on groceries, but I will need to map it all out with meals prepped up in advance.
On the 21st, 23rd, and 25th I will be having ECTs (electroconvulsive therapy, aka "shock" treatments). I know to some this seems extreme or down right suicidal. The fact is that it is one of the safest and effective forms of treatment for severe disorders. I will be having asymmetrical bilateral ECTs which should minimize cognitive problems from the treatment, but I will still be under anesthesia for those 3 days.
That week is going to be a real challenge week for me. If the anesthesia doesn't have a strong effect on me then I should be alright, but it may along with the fact I will have some confusion as a result of the treatment. I may even have some memory loss going back a few weeks before the treatment, but those memories should return on their own. In the meantime, I have that week to get through.
