Pushed my boundaries a bit today and hiked in to do a little leaf peeping and watch the rapids on a river in the middle of nowhere. Before I got my hiking poles I never would have attempted the steep rocky trails because I always feel unstable due to really bad knees. I consider it a victory, even if I forgot my camera in the truck

I'm not sure there will be too many more til spring. The weather gets pretty yucky up here in northern Maine early in the season. It's already snowed on top of the mountain we live beside a couple times. I can't wait for spring. I've missed hiking. If I knew the poles would be so much help I would have gotten them years ago.

CrystalJo74 they are similar to ski poles. Help with posture, balance and stability. Rather inexpensive as well.
