Five hours of hours of sleep, followed by two hours of drowsing while listening to podcasts. Two more days of 80 degree temps so I'm not going to take the fans out of the windows. Morning plank. Ten minutes on the Air Walk Trainer first thing in the morning to burn off glycogen. Today was a down day on the Alternate-Day Diet (500 calories). However, I blew out my RDI trying to get enough protein. I'm getting the hang of using the psyllium fiber. I no longer use the Blender Ball. I mix it with the immersion or personal blender. The trick is to drink it before it settles to the bottom and turns into a gel. Cruising the top 100 free Kindle cookbooks is addictive. Every time I think I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel, I find more worth downloading. The most specialized one I've found so far: "Amazing Paleo Brownies." Cardio: 1 1/2 hours on the Air Walk Trainer. Steps: 310. Started wearing blue light blocking glasses at 9 pm. Relaxation: two 25 minute naps.

Congrats on your commitment to walking, dreamcatcher. Will post a link to the paleo brownies Kindle in tonight's journal. Can't do it here because FatSecret mangles links in comments.

Chris, I got my Kindle as a birthday gift and I know that it was purchased at Office Max or some store like that. I don't understand how amazon can afford to sell "free" Kindle books, except for the occasional purchase by mistake like I do.

Deb, I had to return two Kindles today because I didn't check the price. They were in the top 100 free, but the list hadn't been updated to reflect they'd stopped being free. Someone once described Amazon as a charity funded by investors for customers since they often don't make money in a quarter.

I was not careful and clicked on 12 books that were free for Amazon prime members. Since I'm not a member, I was charged the full price. 12 books for $18.88, not too bad. At the end of the email it said: We hope to see you again soon! lol

Deb, returned another Kindle yesterday because it was on the free list but wasn't. I've started double-checking. I was an Amazon customer for years before I finally subscribed to Prime after they offered Kindle Fire HDs on an installment plan. I got in just before they raised it from $80 to $100. I pay $8 a month just for Netflix and with Prime I get streaming, music (Pandora costs $10 for ad-free), two-day delivery (sometimes next-day), a free Kindle every month (Kindle First), Kindle borrowing privileges, Subscribe & Save, and Prime Pantry. It's worth it to me.

Chris, you definitely get a lot of value for such a low cost! I will have to schedule time in my day to read these books. I look forward to it! Thanks for telling us about the free Kindle books. Eternally grateful!

Chris, you just need someone to rock you to sleep at night. Make sure they don't use too big a rock.

northernmusician, if it's a Canadian rock, we know it'll be smaller - colder, too.
