So there it is. I was indeed the largest one in the Thanksgiving photo of all the 'girls'. I wore a purple sweater, looking at the photo you would think I was a grape ready to pop!

I'm so disgusted with myself. How can you gain close to 100 lbs in 10 years! how?!

I don't much know where to start. I joined Fat Secret. Maybe tracking my foods and finding easy recipes will help.

My boyfriend asked what size in women's NFL attire I would wear. I told him to buy 2x in men's NFL because the women's hugged to close. WTH! I'm a girl!?! Clothes are supposed to hug you! I just don't feel comfortable in them.

I can't imagine what other people think when they see me. I have a good personality, and once they see that it's okay.

Wish me luck, and hoping for some new friends!

One of the biggest things I have learned in my own weight loss journey is to stop the negative self talk. You need to learn to love yourself. I struggle with this a lot but it is very important! Joining FatSecret is a great step. The community is very supportive and filled with wonderful advice!

Welcome to the site Michelle. I agree with Arrevanthas. What's done is done. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Make progress everyday. Set realistic goals. I'm not just talking about weightloss here. Do something healthy everyday. It might be skipping that trip to the vending machine or walking the long way from the parking lot. Good luck.

I gained 124lbs in a 3 year period. The thing about that is, what everyone said was true--you cant go back, but you can go on from RIGHT NOW. It doesnt matter how fast you go, or how long it takes-every day is a chance to get a little closer to health. Good luck!!

Right I think with all of us it took time to gain the weight and it will take time to take it off. Just don't give up on it.

I was close to where you are last year. It can be done. Its not easy and its not fast-after all it took you 10 years to gain. My biggest tip to you as someone who has started this journey and failed many times-is the only thing I did different this time is LOG MY FOOD EVERYDAY. I have started to slack off lately and it starts to creep back up. Weight loss is 70% diet and 30% exercise..it took me many years to realize this after knocking myself out at the gym and seeing minimal results. Good luck!

It does creep on slowly over the years for all of us it seems. I think of the days of being pregnant and now being 30+ lbs more than I was at 9 months! Good gracious! What happened???? LIFE I guess... So we work to get rid of it and have to remember it didn't come on over night and it's not going to leave overnight either! Hang in there and work at it.

I agree with Got The Munchies - counting calories is definitely the best way to lose weight. You can lose weight by just exercising, but it won't be nearly the amount you would lose from eating less. And I completely understand - when I got married 13 years ago I was 185 lbs, and now 13 years and 3 kids later I am 290 (though it's definitely not the kids fault I gained weight lol). From my experience logging in what you eat really makes you aware , its not easy but taking one day at a time helps.Good luck
