Struggling with being discouraged. I know I've been doing pretty great but just not feeling it. Trying to stay motivated.

Keep in mind why you started your journey in the first place. If you are feeling burnt out maybe take a day to your self and rejuvenate, keep your destination in mind and keep walking you will get there.

Motivation will always ebb and flow. In what ways are you feeling discouraged?

My LDL cholesterol wasn't lower at my last checkup I need it to drop by 50 points in 3 weeks or else my doc wants me on medication I don't want to take. I really don't want to have to deal with the side effects.

I feel for you, John, but keep the faith. Do WHATEVER you gotta do for the next three weeks to bring those numbers down the best you can. Perhaps your doc will say the improvement is enough at that point. It’s your life. What could be more important to you and your family? I’m behind you all the way🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻☀️

I have this thing on my computer screen that says " IF you keep going you won't regret it. IF you give up you will.
I read that day many times. stay strong!

Saigegirl, I love that. I think I'll have to go hang that up in the house today.

That would be disheartening!! Statins and other cholesterol-lowering medications do come with a laundry-list of side effects, but sometimes the benefits do outweigh the risk. The Dr. can only prescribe the medication, it's your choice to take it or not. But Just like @Saigegirl and @Maguscanook said, this is still a fight worth fighting! Even if you choose to go on medication, the healthier you are overall, the lower the necessary dose you will need, the milder the side effects. Eventually, you may not even need medication (or, you may be in a position where you choose not to take your medication, and manage your cholesterol through other means). You can use it as a temporary tool to help get where you need to be. It is possible - but you can't give up!! Sending you lots of good energy!!
