Ladydawnie's Logboek, 08 mei 22

Ok, so in order to keep my blood sugars pretty low, even then not ideal, I have to eat fat based foods and drink no carb drinks. I won't use artificial sweeteners as the are really bad for my guts.
I am really hungry with the prednisolone, so it is even harder than it ever was to go hungry and not eat anything when I am.
So I started taking single cream instead of milk in my coffees, eating salad, babybel and counting calories on these, but I do keep going over 2000 and seem to be gaining approx 1kg per week which is disastrous and I will soon be back to what I was before I did the really low calorie diet over 12 weeks last year to try and fix the diabetes. Cannot do that so will now be on black coffee and just one white coffee per day. No cheat days. Still loads of salads which I really don't need to record as they are so low in calories. Hard boiled eggs, can eat a few of them and not many calories and prawns too, but prawns aren't filling. I have lots of veggies with my dinner of fish but still don't feel full.
It all seems to go to water unless it is calorie dense and as I am too ill to exercise that makes things very hard.
So plan is
Black coffees
Salads
less cheese even though they didn't take me over at 3 babybels a day
Eggs
not having the fried breakfast been getting occasionally.
mushrooms not fried
lots of white fish
chicken
no sugars as usual.
if nuts very few

Can u not have porridge for breakfast u can make that with water n it's filling?? I really don't no what u can or can't have but just thought I'd suggest it and u can put alsorts of fruit in it xx

Hi lady dawned, I'm type 2 and I gave 100gm of greek yog with chia seeds and about 5 frozen strawberries. the chia seeds really fill you up and it doesn't mess with my glucose levels. x

It seems to me that you got a plan in place and you are doing the best you can under these circumstances, from experience it is really difficult to loose weight without exercising but it is do-able.

Hi Ladydawnie, sorry if I'm being ignorant and not wanting to meddle, but as a suggestion - is it possible for you to walk outside even a little bit more, or just walk up and down stairs at home a bit more often? Any activity at all which you can do without hurting yourself has such a positive effect on your wellbeing in addition to burning calories. Good luck with your new diet plan. Maybe also looking for veggies with high fibre might help with feeling fuller?

I get Prednisole often for my lungs,,it is a nightmare and I totally empathise! I think you are on the right track though and will do well sticking to ur plan ā¤

Thanks so much for the great suggestions, can only have a few fresh berries per day and no idea what oats do for glucose but can have a look at the porridge thing. The eggs, great, I eat lots of those too. I do try to walk a little with my stick (vertigo as well as shortness of breath) when I can, not really able to do enough to affect my weight though. And thanks so much the suggestions are great and thanks to those empathizing, yes illness does affect some of us that need the fattening meds. God bless all of you.
