Justbananas, I had been taking a supplement for various reasons that is making me hungry all day long. And with snack foods around for the kids lunches, and working from home, I found myself snacking throughout the day. So I've stopped using the supplement a week or so ago but now I have to focus on cutting out snacks again and really pay attention to the number of calories more closely.

Snacking will getcha. It's how I gained 50-60 pounds in 2 years at one job -- there was always food in the breakroom and I just grazed all day at my desk. Something serious to consider, though, is the type of snacks that are in your home; if they increase your weight, are they increasing the kids', too? It may be worth everyone's health to throw out snacks in cellophane wrappers and just keep a fruit bowl out instead. Baby carrots and red/yellow/orange bell peppers (without dip) are sweet, too.
