So, disheartening. After walking 3 miles on Saturday, and 4.5 miles on Sunday, and weight training on Tuesday, I'm a little distressed that i'm still gaining weight. I guess i'm still trying to find my food/exercise balance. Not a total disaster, and i'm not totally focused on the number, but still, a 3 pound gain is upsetting when i've been so careful & working out so strenuously. I have a doctor's appointment on friday, and i'm hopeful i'll also get a little motivation there. so, slight setback, but working on it!

maybe your problem is a medical conditon or lack of vitamins? i've found that i've gained weight during my weight loss and have been in your sitaution before also you can't let this temporary weight gain discourage your effort do you count calories also?

weight loss is sometimes followed by weight gain so it is normal to gain back almost as much as you lost short term as long as it is short term only and you are staying the same(within 5 pounds but not more than 5 pound range)

Exercise adds pounds at first because your building muscle...it's amazing how heavy muscle can be but it will help speed up your metabolism. If you keep on a process of eating right and exercising you will see the results!!

Don't forget the likelyhood that you are gaining wt due to added muscle? The tape is the answer: measure, or do clothes fit tighter? or looser? More muscle doesn't make us look too bulky, instead it reshapes us more naturally. Patience and persistance is what you are good at. :)

also i've found that my weight loss/gain is related to my appetitie and sometimes big appetiite is from a vitamin deficiiencly or nutrititional deficiency. i go through eating binges and no appetitie binges.
