This is such a struggle for me. Trying so hard to keep the low carbs. Unfortunately, I am having difficulty with my daily foods. Today I had a rice cake with some homemade blueberry jam:(. Then Later I had 2 morning star burgers with cheddar (no bread) a tablespoon of ketchup and then I went through almost a quarter of a pound of deli pastrami (no bread). I still get hungry and it's so challenging for me. I will try to make it to the gym in the morning.

Can you eat avocados? Not a bad fat and could help with hunger and feeling full, maybe. I'm not expert.

Yes, when doing low carb you might want to limit the protein and increase the healthy fats with eggs, nuts, avocado, etc. Look at the colored pie chart at the bottom of your food log each day. I usually try for 25%protein, 10% crabs and 65%fats, It seems crazy but eating fat will NOT make you fat.

HCB - got me chuckling...I know you meant carbs but 10% crabs...lol. That sounds great to me, I love crabs!! Sorry for derailing this, back to helpful discussion!

Thanks everyone for your support and comments. I will try to increase my fat intake. Besides avocado, nuts and eggs do you have meal ideas which are higher in healthy fat? Thanks again!

You can use coconut oil while cooking to increase healthy fat. I just bought a book by Dana Carpender called low carb high fat cooking but it's at home so I can look at it later today and suggest some.

Bwhahahaha! I did not even notice my typo - I guess I have crabs on the brain! My husband's birthday is next week and he loves crab! I was thinking of having some Maryland crabs shipped for him!

In addition to the healthy fats, I also try to fill up on raw greens like spinach and baby kale-- I might make a salad with 2-3 cups of greens, half an avocado, blue cheese, and a few almond slivers, blackberries or strawberries-- drizzle it with some olive oil and it is difficult to eat it all!! It def fills me up! You can also EAT ALL OF THE BACON!! Very satiating.

LOL Hcb. I live in Maryland. Crabs are a big thing here. Unfortunately, I cant eat any shellfish as I keep kosher.

One cup of whole strawberries: Total Carbohydrate 11 g Dietary fiber 2.9 g Sugar 7 g One cup of blackberries: Total Carbohydrate 14 g Dietary fiber 8 g Sugar 7 g Using only a few sounds great. :)
