Sounds like the party went well(? -- or at least, no stress or drama?) Take time today to rest and re-group (and make sure you put the DH and DKs to work on any party 'clean-up')!

I've been concerned about your party. Sounds like no drama so now you can relax a bit. Stress takes such a toll. Did FIL like you house re-do?

FIL like the renovations but you could see the look on his face that went unsaid this is not my house anymore and it looked pained and sad. I felt bad but what was there for me to say? DH told me FIL said to him at one point that he was sorry he left him such a shitty house. FIL like to drink and party that is what he put his $$ into. We wanted to make the house liveable for 40 more years. And yes the house was shitty IMHO though I did not say that to him. But there was mold in the Bathroom, ceilings/walls cracked and falling, no insulation the side door had a panel in it we had to nail back in or the cat could use it as a cat door. One of the ones I lost 2 years ago did. The gameroom floor where the bay has sunk was no comfort and a worry. So holding my tongue was for the best because I sure was not going to be the one to start issues. I just talked to my SILs and some to my BILs and made sure FIL's coffee cup was never empty. I did not don my stepford wives overly pleasant demeanor but I played hostess as best as I could.
