Sorry guys but I need to vent. Look away now before its too late......

Menopause! How long does it go on for????
I think I can consider myself lucky that I haven't got really bad symptons, but Aunt Flow being so inconsistent or totally persistant is doing my head in. She has been here since the 31st of October and she has no intention of leaving.
Quiet the opposite.
Got myself some iron tablets hoping to prevent aenimia again. I got a bit dizzy yesterday....hope thats not the start of it.

On a different note: I dusted my Kettlebells of wednesday night and swung them 'around' for 1/2 hour including squats and lunges. Hehe. Guess who knows where her quats and glutes are again ;)

Out to a place called Avington tommorrow, beating. Its lovely there but the weather forecast ain't brilliant. Better pack my waterproofs :)

I googled Avington. Looks like a beautiful place to visit!

I think that you should see a doctor. What you are describing is peri-menopause, but you shouldn't have "Aunt Flo" going on like that, it's not normal. The visits should be more and more distanced in time with the visit lasting less time and practically barely being there. Menopause is when she completely stops visiting.

I feel your pain. Wait until the hot flashes arrive, oh joy! On the up side, I've found a certain freedom in reaching this stage in my life, I care less about what others think and care more about what really matters in life.

My wife had issues with excessive bleeding and anemia, almost needed a transfusion once. She ended up having an endometrial ablation as a result. Hope it gets better for you.

If you know your mother's experience, that might be helpful along with some soy isoflavoids. All the best!

Could be other causes - mine were cysts the size of golf balls - could be time for a check-up to make sure it isn't something else. All the best to you!!!

Every woman is different and only you know your history and family history. I would however go to the doc to make sure you are doing just fine and maybe the doc can help you out making things a bit easier in the process for you. God bless and hang in there, it really does get better!

What jmb said. Sometimes in perimenopause the endometrial lining gets thickened and needs ablated. And yes, watch out for those hot flashes. I used to laugh and not understand, and then when chemo pushed me into chemical menopause, I had in 3 months all the hotflashes women have in a span of 5-6 years. I used to keep baby wipes in the freezer and put them on my head when I had a hot flash (and that happened pretty much every half an hour). The only good thing about losing hair from chemo was that with a bald head it was easier to cool off.

Can I, a stranger, kid you? Until your family hears the words, "may she rest in peace..."
