Lots of people call LCHF insanity, but following the same plan with no results is what I call insanity. Eventually it will lead to one of two things, giving up or cutting calories to the point of starvation (and then gaining it back later anyway, because one can only endure sever calorie restriction for so long). If your plan is working for you, GREAT! I'm thrilled for you, and your progress. If not, it's time to try something different.

Hope you all have a great day! :)

That's a good quote. But lot's of people do low carb and gain it back too. I think a whole lot of factors go in to weight loss (much of it mental) and everyone has to find their own path with the diet that fits in to their life. And your right, starving yourself is nuts (but I understand the desperation).

You're right, Suzi, but the reason people gain it back is because they don't understand that in maintenance you have to up fat intake to keep weight steady instead of adding back the carbs. If carbs make one fat in the beginning, they will make one fat again after adding them back. Carb intolerant people have to face the fact that they are indeed carb intolerant (just like lactose intolerant & gluten intolerant), and make peace with the fact that carbs do not agree with their bodies.

I agree, Jenny. I've had to realize that it is a medical condition. One that I just need to learn to live with and accept. The more I stay away from carbs, the healthier I will be. At least I don't have to take medication to control the condition.

Exactly, Darlene! The keto lifestyle started out with me as a weight loss solution, but the feeling the awesomeness has been what keeps me here. If I eat carbs now I feel awful, just the way I felt before keto and not realizing what was causing it.

Thanks for setting up the challenge FatGirlJenny. You look great by the way. Well done! Unfortunately or fortunately depending how you look at it, for those of us who are carb intolerant there is no chance of going back to the old habits. If we do we will be sick and fat once more. It just is what it is.

In a scientific process you change one variable and look for the effects. If you change more than one variable how do you really know what worked.

@jparlett, variables being? "good" carbs vs "bad" carbs?? If that's what you're talking about, I did that. I just cut out all of the bad carbs in the beginning. I lost a little, but then it stopped. I was hungry ALL of the time! On keto, all of my cravings have disappeared. I sit and watch my family enjoy things that are not on my plan without a problem. When eating just "good" carbs, my mouth would water s bad that I would have to leave the room or give in. This was probably due to the insulin spikes and dips that "good" carbs still cause.

i Agree Not seeing results is insane. I have been in that rut 6 months. Then finally I break my plateau right before thanks giving to gain it back again =( Hate the holidays. But atleast I know I can do it. You just need to tweak your diet and key is to be HAPPY. Enjoy your healthy lifestyle, because I can tell you if you hate the diet/lifestyle you follow you will not succeed. Try to make it work for you so it can be enjoyable. No diet is one fits al
