Thanks for the words of encouragement HCB. How are your workouts going? Are they kicking your butt? Lol

I've seen that program. I hope you can get out of bed in the morning.

Thanks brother. :) Northernmusician, the chest and back are OK but that plyometrics is hard hard. I hope I can get up too. Lol

So many people are getting hurt doing P90X..because they don't realize that you can't just jump into that type of extreme routine after being sedentary without risking getting injured. So I am happy to know that it is working for you. But there's no way I would do it..especially since that type of exercise isn't right for my body type.

PJBear_ You are so right about that. I have done the P90X before and in fact got injured not only once but twice. It set me back close to 6 months and during that time, all I did was ride my bicycle on the beach path. So now that I have experienced those injuries, I have been doing resistance training for a while now and feel I am not just jumping in any longer and more importantly, know my limitations. I do push hard but don't overdo it. Thanks for sharing that advice.

I'm not a bouncer either. Just not my thing. That and the fact I broke an ankle when I was younger and was told I'd be walking with a cane by the time I was 40. Thanks, doc. You did better than expected.

Yep, it's not for everyone. And frankly, there are so many workout routines one can do to relieve the boredom of doing of same thing, after 3 months, I will switch to something else since other programs are available. The body for life routine is actually much more over the top for building muscle.

I think I've read Body for Life. I recall it being fairly rational.

I've never done the P90X stuff but understand it's pretty tough. Keep on it and in time it'll be kicking your butt less and less. Having a half-fast hump day here.

Glad you had a good hump day jmb3450. Though there are probably better workouts than P90X, I am truly spent afterwards but the thing I like is the variation of exercises. My friend called it muscle confusion because the exercises, even if they are of the same muscle group are different. Example is my shoulders and arms routine which has 15 different exercises.

There was a time when I ran P90x back-to-back for 3 cycles...270 days straight. My conclusion is that while it is a good program, it is not sustainable and you need something long-term. I decided to create my own program which I follow now and is repeatable with anyone and I'm only in the gym 9 days a month. All I need now is a patent, a developer to work as a partner to build me an app...and we're off.

Mahjohn, I guess it depends on the goal. I don't agree about it not being sustainable though I do know that after doing the program, I will probably have to do something even more intense, thus the workout you created is a good thing. Good luck with that. What I do know about this Apps is that there are about 700 thousand apps so getting noticed is THE BIG THING. I am a writer and was doing some research on copyrights so I also looked at patents because maybe when I finish my book, there is an app for smart phones that will work better. I am copying a link to a site which will give you a little info on both patents and apps. Let me know how it works for you. http://blog.patentology.com.au/2012/10/can-i-and-should-i-patent-my-smartphone.html
