More food for thought. I've been pretty much doing the Beast challenge consistently since it started. It's had its benefits to be sure. But I've noticed that it also has a downside. My stomach/insulin response has decreased to such a degree, that I simply can't consume enough calories for wellbeing in a day.
When I do eat, the most I can manage is a few bites, and my body shuts off the appetite, and if I try to force more, I get nauseated. The past few days, I have really had a challenge even getting up to 1000 kcal/day. And I know that's not doing my metabolism any favors.
I have noticed a sharp decrease in muscle strength with this problem. I'm simply not taking in enough protein, and my glycogen reserves were depleted long ago, so I'm sure that my body is scavenging protein from my muscles for the glucose it needs. I've noticed an increase in my hands shaking, peripheral vision problems, and feeling disconnected from 'reality'. None of those are good signs.
So, I'm bowing out of Beast 2.0, and going to try alternate day fasting. The cycle should be feast and famine, not pittance and famine. I know the rules of the Beast Challenge were to consume your maintenance RDI in an hour, but my body wasn't having that. So I have to change things up, or get sick.

Try, fail and adjust. There is no shame in your effort.

I appreciate your honesty MsK. Like I said in the rules. I do NOT want anyone making themselves Ill. Thank you for what you have done. And keep up the amazing work. You have learned how much you can control your hunger. That much is for sure. There is no shame.

Nice job paying attention to your body's signals, buddy! That's what it's all about! I've eaten very low calories for the fast few days, because I just wasn't hungry. Today I was hungry all day, so I ate all day...lol.

Thanks for the support, guys. Now to restart my hunger signals....LOL On the upside, I found some low carb tortillas in my little podunk town! 5 net cabs apiece. I'm thinking they'll make dandy pizza crusts. ;)

This is why I didn't go beast mode - I knew I couldn't eat very many calories all at once. Even though I'm now doing every other day, I still don't seem to be eating that much on the non-fasting day. But I feel good. What you were experiencing sounds like low blood sugar. Your new plan will probably work better.

Why not try to do a fathead pizza like 4-5 carbs per slice you can just Google it

Forgot to mention, and maybe you've seen the Butter Bob video on insulin, but he said studies showed that 70% of insulin reduction happens in the first 16 hours of fasting. This means that you'll still get considerable benefit without having to go 23 hours fasting. Sixteen is far easier to do.

Thanks, Trackin64. I have watched all of Butter Bob's videos. He's a simple guy who makes the complexities simple. Love him! I seem to do best on an 18:6. I've never been an breakfast eater, and I've never been a snacker, so I've sort of been doing it most of my life, without knowing it's a 'thing'. LOL My capacity for food has been diminishing dramatically over the last few years, even before starting LCHF, but the Beast Mode seems to have almost shut it down. I just wasn't getting enough protein to support healthy brain/muscle function.

@blkbear, I don't use a microwave and keeping the cheese at the right consistency is a PITA without one. I tried it once, and it was a big mess! LOL
