Boss "So what did you eat today soup or salad"
ME: "Salad"
Boss "How much longer are you going to eat that way? Are you trying to lose more weight????" my bosses tone with that line of questions implies that I have lost more than enough weight and how insane it is too keep eating healthy food now that I'm skinny enough (in her estimation)

You'd think if you heard her that I was nothing but a skeleton. For cripes sake I still have a muffin top and I'm hovering between 135-140lbs. For the last two months I have been gaining and losing the same 5lbs. I have not even reached my goal yet but according to her (and a few others) I shouldn't lose any more weight. She actually told me that my muffin top might be related to age. Ummm no..if those 50 year old hollywood stars can have tight little bodies there is no reason this 40 year old cannot. While I don't have a personal trainer or a dietician I can still be more fit than I am.

I just don't understand why anyone would want to encourage me to go back to eating the way I was, when they see that eating healthy has had great benefits to my body and overall health.

Simply, my dear....they are jealous. Misery loves company and you are not in the miserable group. You represent to them someone who succeeds...puts forth effort and wins...makes a commitment and sticks to it...and the list goes on and on. It is sad that our friends, coworkers, and sometimes family can not just be happy that we have decided to get healthy but they don't. You have worked very hard to get to where you are....I am very proud of you and also agree, not everyone has to have a muffin top in order to age properly. You go girl and I hope those reluctant 5 pounds just drop off...

GO !!! I am 46 and have worked off my muffin top and back fat. I am in the 133 range +/- . Now to get a tighter butt and slimmer thighs (I am short).

It drives me crazy too!! I was a non meat eater for years and I can't tell you how many comments I would get about it. Now, on Atkins all I hear is OMG that is sooo unhealthy. You shouldn't be doing that diet at all, you will eventually have a heart attack. Now, my response is...really? Because I feel great, its not eat bacon & cheese all day like 75% of the general public believe it is, and I am pretty sure that being overweight is unhealthy as well! (Usually shuts them up at least for the rest of the day) At 147 lbs all I hear is oh you are getting too thin, you need to start eating NORMAL again. By no means am i skinny (or even thin in my eyes). I think Gwen is right...misery loves company!
