NowIunderstand's Logboek, 06 jan 17

I watch it. Kate and her brother are my favorite characters along with Randall's wife and father. I don't care for their Mother very much. Her struggle with her weight seems very genuine. I hope Toby will be ok.  

I know how Kate feels. her weight overshadows all of her life. I find the dialogue very real.  

I don't watch much tv....but I'm hooked on that new show. Definitely hope Toby will be alright. I think that he and Kate make a great couple. She's my favorite. 

Isn't this the show where the actor actually has in her contract she must lose weight because the character does? I saw her interviewed and she was saying she had no problem signing it as she knows she needs to get healthy. I have it recorded but haven't watched, darn it! 

Yes and i just loved it.

Rckc I was going to say the same thing. Great idea to represent the true struggles of a fat person but I too read she is obligated to lose weight. I also have a lot to say about the 'no body shame' movement. It's one thing to treat people equally but a whole nother to condone being unhealthy. We as a society should not be normalizing being overweight just because such a sizable (pun intended) portion of our population currently is. This coming from someone who has been beyond obese most of her life. 

@rckc - no worries, the actress made the spoiler by giving the interview... We'll live... :) @time - absolutely right. People need to be accepted where they are, but to pretend that there is not a problem is something else. Health is at stake. Obesity is a major cause of cancer. Tobacco first, obesity second. For tobacco, has he puts it, 'it will kill you, it'll take time, but it works' (I didn't read this on the internet, it was part of a university lecture from a recognized doctor - as he was presenting the statistics)
