I drink a lot of unsweetened tea everyday to help curb my appetite but I didn't even think about pesticides. I have since thrown out my Lipton and bought organic.

Popular Tea Brands Found To Contain Illegal Amounts Of Harmful Toxins
1. Tetley
2. Lipton
3. Twinnings
4. Uncle Lee’s Legends of China
5. King Cole
6. Celestial Seasonings

Uncle Lee’s Legends of China has over 20 types of pesticides, more than 90% of Celestial Seasonings teas violate United States pesticide laws and 100% of Starbucks Teavana teas contain pesticides exceeding regulatory limits. In addition, 62% of teas tested contained “endosulfan” which has been banned by the U.S., the EU, and 144 other countries.

Thank you for sharing this important information, Angel. Buying certified organic is really important, especially for items grown overseas where pesticide oversight is even more lax than in the US.

I think it is the pesticides in my Tetleys that keeps me going!

I guess it's time for me to do some research. I recently got on an iced tea kick and drink it frequently. Thanks for the info.

I found out the other day, speaking of "stuff" in products: Mountain Dew... which I haven't drank in years, has BROMINATATED VEGETABLE OIL (BVO): This is a perfect example of a tricky ingredient because most people will read it and thing it is not a problem since it is vegetable oil, skipping over the word "brominated." Brominated means that this is vegetable oil that contains the chemical, bromine. It is used as an emulsifier in many citrus-flavored soft drinks. An emulsifier is a substance that allows foods to mix together. It does this by thickening the oil so that it is as dense as the water in the drink. India has banned the use of BVO from its soft drinks and it is not an approved additive in Europe. Bromine and/or forms of bromine are used in pesticides, disinfectants, flame retardants, as a gasoline additive, and for swimming pool maintenance. Its use has been limited in the U.S. but is still contained in some food products. Bromine has no known essential role in human health. And round up put on wheat, corn and other grain products during the last week before harvest! So, is it really the gluten or is it the poison?

wow! Subway even had plastic in its roll recipes and they have the nerve to over package everything so it takes 5 minutes to open "for our security"? It's ridiculous!!!
