I did horribly yesterday. Well, I stayed with low carb options, but I did lose it emotionally and binge on pork rinds (about half a bag) and macadamia nuts (most of a short container). I *did* stick to water, though, and that binge was definitely eye opening in the way that it's SO much less "binge like" than when I was eating sugar. Oh, man - binges before low carb were all night affairs with McDonald's Double Quarter Pounders, large shakes, apple pies...and sometimes coming home to eat more ice cream or candy bars. I say coming home, because I would make sure to eat it all in the car where no one (hopefully) would see me. Last night, DH was going to the store and I said that I *needed* him to get me something safe to eat 'cause I felt a binge coming on. He came back with regular and BBQ pork rinds and the macadamia nuts and it worked. The flavors and the fat were rich enough to do the trick and I found myself wanting water, as opposed to diet rootbeer or anything else.

So...I guess I didn't to so horribly. It sure feels that way when you know you're giving in, in any way, to a binge. I need to keep journaling. It helps keep me honest and down to earth with myself. If I hadn't worked that out on "paper" where I could see it, I'd still be in a panic.

It's better to go for those options than it is to all out lose it and cheat on junk food. I binged on almonds and cashews a few weeks ago and it was better I think than potato chips or onion rings etc.
