day 158...i read this article and i could relate to it..when i first started working out i was loosing pounds, but then i kinda got to a spot wher the pounds got slower, but my pants got looser....and i dont kno if its cause i drink the protein shakes, that is helping to give me more protien along with my eating habits or not..when i first started, back in june i had to wear a size 52 pants...the ones im wearing now are a 48 and if i get ahold of the belt loops and pull down they come off still buttoned...lol..so really im almost down to a 46...but i have only lost about 30 pounds according to the scales...so im guessin im making more muscle like the article says...which i dont care either way..cause it sounds like this is better then watchin the scales...here is the article


Have one question seem to be losing more in inches then in pounds. Not complaining as my clothes is starting to fall off me but wonder if anyone else is experiencing this. I am so happy and now have hope I can control this .

Congratulations!!! It is so encouraging to hear of other cysters having success with controlling this!

I followed a strict low carb diet for almost a year before I blew it. I have since started on a lower carb/higher protein, to see if that would work.

As far as losing inches instead of pounds. This is what is happening. You are losing fat and gaining muscle. Muscle takes up less space than fat so you are losing inches, but muscle weighs more than fat so the pounds are slower in coming off. That is why the tape measure is always a more accurate indicator of success, and it sounds like you are doing beautifully! The even more exciting part of this is that you are gaining muscle not using it as fuel. More Muscle=Higher Metabolism! So basically it is a win/win situation...

good info. I think you are doing a fine job and I think that anyone who puts their mind to it and really goes after what they want aka, weight loss, they can get it!! you're such a good motivater by the way!! thanks =D

I'm so proud of you!! You are only 2 lbs from your first goal, that is so AWESOME! Unfortunately, yes the scale does slow down, but I believe it is a life thing for you and you are going to keep on keepin' on until you are where you need to be, to be healthy! Keep up the great work. :)

ty..its really hard day in an day out to walk, workout and get on the scales and not see them move..but at the same time..i have lost several inches around my waist, and several sizes in pants, so i guess as long as im loosing one way or anther..thats all that matters...
