Well I have been at it now for five weeks and I am happy to say that I have dropped almost 13 pounds. I really did not think it would happen this quickly but I am very pleased. I am continuing to tweak what I ear to achieve the balance that my nutritionist suggested - 40% Carbs, 30% Protein and 30% Fats. I am eating under 1,600 calories each day and am feeling full every day. It is hard to get 100g of Protein but I have added Pure Protein bars to my daily diet. They add 20g of protein to my diet each day and they are chocolate, caramel and peanut butter. They help me hit my protein target and my sweet craving. I leave for Punta Cana in a week. I know that I am going to drink alcohol but I am sure that I will be able to make good food choices.

My partner went from diabetes diagnosis, to not even pre-diabetic now, by eliminating carbs. Did splurge weekends between 3-month A1C testing periods. They were a lot heavier than you to start with, though. :-) Glad you're finding what works for you!
