I think the secret to all of this is to stay away from added sugar and don't eat anything that is packaged in a sealed bag. Stay away from processed foods. Eat stuff that grows above ground. KETO dieters do not eliminate carbs. We get complex carbs from the vegetables we eat. We get complex carbs from the low sugar fruit we eat like raspberries and blackberries. And we get complex carbs from the nuts we eat. So. we eat a little bit of everything. Another good habit? Fiber! You like Apple Juice? Eat an apple. Don't drink the juice without the fiber. You really have to change how you feel about food and the role it has in your life to be successful at maintaining your loss. Going on a diet to attain your health is a life decision. While you're losing weight it is very important to realize that the reason you are losing weight is because you changed how you were living. You can never go back to the old ways. The old ways are why we are all here.

Thank you so much Tori. To be skinny and then fat and then work back to being skinny is a humbling experience. Having people around like you makes things a lot easier. I have not found one person here who doesn't have something encouraging to say. I hope we can both find a way to meet our goals and maintain them for the rest of our lives. It does feel good going into this summer a hundred pounds lighter! Got a ways to go though! Again just trying to take one day at a time....

I started gaining weight when I was a child and was never really thin. I'm still not thin, I'm a typical endomorph, I'll never be thin. What I've discovered over the course of my life is that people just used my weight as an excuse to be mean. I came to the realization that my lifelong fallacy was to treat others the way I would like to be treated because more often than not, kindness and good intentions aren't reciprocated. I haven't allowed that to change who I am as a person, but I do recognize what's what a whole lot faster and don't waste my time and kindness where it's obvious that it's not appreciated, nor likely to be returned. People ARE a lot nicer to me now that I'm not morbidly obese hovering around 450+ pounds, and I really have less use for people that weren't nice to me when I was heavy than I do strangers.

Hi, I was athletic and physically strong from my teens to my thirties. The highest I weighed in my teens to mid twenties, was125. I jumped to 190 at the age 30. I rode a bike and worked out through my thirties and early forties. I started eating junk food at work with at risk youth in a residential program. I injured my knees on the job. ACL tears, back injuries, and hand injuries. No bike riding. Stayed over 260 until I ballooned to 304. fatty liver from food, HBP, Diverticulitis, Back spurs, severe spondylosis, ... The liver diagnosis scared me into losing weight. I went from 304 to 277.4 in 3 months. I walk daily. I started physical therapy for my knees. This builds strength. I need to create exercises that don't hurt my back. let's all keep moving forward. There is great support here! I wish us health!
