stupid question, is it ok for someone with lactose intolerance to drink it?

Hello Fattymgoo,
As long as you do not have a nut allergy, Almondmilk is perfect for someone who is lactose intolerant. Just try to avoid brands that contain needless fillers such as carageenan and soy lecithen--Califia farms sells a good one.
Also, something I enjoy even more than almond milk (which is often too salty for me) is Good Karma Flaxseed Milk unsweetened. It is really creamy and has a mild flavor as well.

For those who are convinced that nut milks are the wway to go, do yourself a favor and buy a nutmilk maker and make your own! it takes 13 minutes and you just load the cannister and press a button after you have added water. And it tastes incredible comapred to store bought stuff. And you can make rice milks from whitem sweet, brown rices to change up the flavors. In fact I make bean milk also. But my favorite is 3/4 sliced almonds, 1/4 raw peanuts and after it is cooked add some vanilla and honey to taste. It is just like drining a Snickers Bar! Yumm!
The best part is it is so dang cheap to make a better quality milk.

I like the Silk Cashew milk best - unsweetened vanilla
It's thicker which is what I like.

I also get Fair Life milk. I keep Fat Free, 2% and 4% in my fridge. Extra protein, no lactose... and I can balance my fat as needed :) I prefer Whole on some cereals. I like variety in my life.

Coconut isn't bad either, but I prefer the almond too.

I tried to send a link for reviews but seems could not. Google sy milk maker reviews. The one from urban vegan is good if you are new to these machines. i have an older version of Soyajoy.
The one thing i forgot to mention is the pulp, which is 40% fiber or more in some cases and tasteless. Add huge amounts of fiber into your every day meals. It was a struggle to keep kids in enough fiber till I started putting the pulp in spaghetti sauce, cream of wheat (they hated oatmeal) and anything else I think it would blend in with. As i said, once you buy your own organic nuts or seeds and make your own, you will never go back to store bought, no matter how fancy the label looks.

At the beginning of my journey I went to unsweetened milk, whatever was on sale. Stopping sugar is what stopped all my cravings.

I don't drink it enough to want to buy it. If I know I'm going to drink it the next day, I'll throw a handful of almonds into the nutribullet with water and stick it in the fridge overnight, then just blend it up in the morning. If it's a whim thing, I do the same and just mix it without letting them soak. Tastes about the same in the end.
