Zoimache's Logboek, 29 feb 12

I'm 33 and I believe if I don't turn my life around I will die early. I have a family history of extreme obesity. I don't think this excuses me but some of it is genetics. It's not that I eat alot more that I eat one meal a day maybe two and even though I include leafy greens I don't eat what I should and by waiting for I e very late night meal I am starving by the time I do eat. I like to exercise but I have what I call a goldfish brain. I like the exercise to be challenging to the point I have to fight to finish bc if I can do it right away I lose interest. The only time I really worked out was when I did karate a few yrs back but I can no longer afford lessons. My goal is a long term one. I would like to reach 250 by the end of the year. In other words I have to lose and entire person in 12 months. I think it's possible. I can't subscribe to ww or Jenny Craig bc I honestly can not afford it even if it means saving my life. So I am hoping that through this site I can find help. Find a way to preserve me and get healthy. I understand it's hard. I just need guidance. No one is accountable but me however I have no idea where to begin. In case u wonder I don't drink soda. I also want to work out but need to find something extremely challenging.

You came to the right place. I can not afford Jenny Craig, WW, etc. They are all SO expensive. I count calories and exercise (since the 4th I can't exercise because of a car accident) Have you looked into the P90X or Insanity? There are some websites that you can download the videos for free or for very little. I have heard that those are the most intense workouts that my brother had ever done and he was a wrestler and football player for years. If you have netflix you can stream workouts. You can also Youtube workout videos and get a bunch of free workouts or ideas. I wish you luck on this journey. I have faith that through counting calories and exercise you can reach your goal. The key is to NOT give up, and if you cheat not to get down on yourself and start right back on the right path.

Don't give up! My best advice for you is to record EVERYTHING you eat and drink, every single day. It keeps you aware of what you are eating, and if you eat badly, it gives you a goal and a reason to eat better, not to make you feel bad about yourself!! This website is really awesome because it's FREE and all you have to do is login and there is SO MUCH SUPPORT here for you, and information, and a great community. People who are doing well, and people who are having a challenging time, we are all in it together. I hate that the site is called fatsecret though, because being fat is no secret! Good luck and I know you can do it!

I understand where you're coming from. I used to be a once a day eater and joining weight loss programs is simply not in the budget. It took some work, and some days I still struggle with remembering to eat smaller portions but more times per day. However, this site has been wonderful, I've met some really great people and gotten the type of support that I have never had in my weight loss attempts in the past. I am sure the same will happen for you. Feel free to add me if you need buddies to help keep you motivated and encouraged. Remember first ... You CAN do this.. and we're here to help you.
