Last weekend I froze 8 quarts of Miracle soup and last night put up 8 quarts of HambStew (ham hocks and lamb shanks) both loaded with low-carb veggies. Now Before I go
on a hike on any given rainy day (and there are lots on Seattle) I let one thaw and dinner is done when I get home. For me it eliminates one more obstacle of getting out of the house by noon, I'm lucky my partner is very supportive of my walking all afternoon and dinner is late cause I'm trying to push myself to go a little farther everyday.
As for my bad candy habits I need to avoid my triggers, but I was buying a Halloween item at Party City and they have barrels of individually wrapped candy (10 cents) those little gold foil wrapped peanut butter cups, little twix and kit-kat bars and ghost peeps, (I thought that was a hell I only had to go through on Easter) on both sides of the register line. And my mind says "they're so small and cute and seasonal and only around for a short time and just a couple won't hurt and I did walk here". Sound familiar. I actually stepped out of line put my intended purchase back on the shelf and left. Went to Hot Topic and got the same thing, no candy in sight, edible underwear, but no candy.
I am going to no less than 3 movies in the next 4 weeks. I'm taking some good advice and sneaking in some fat-bombs, which I've never made before and in the past I've made the Atkin's chocolate truffle which helps me around the holidays. Tonight I will make some celery stuffed with peanut butter with cocoa nibs sprinkles and watch Svengoolie. It's just not movie night without munchies. I also plan to walk 4 miles after Saturday Night Live, which is my favorite night and time to walk, my usually very busy neighborhood is like a ghost town and I don't have to haunt my usually trails. Much needed variety.
