I'm bout to just forget trying to do this.. I am confusing myself.. Not even sure how many Carbs, Protein, or Fat I'm supposed to have... When I try calculate it confuses me.. I just want to keep my T2D under control and loose some weight.

If you're feeling adventurous, you might look up Forks Over Knives. No macros, no calorie counting, no food logging, & no portion control. I eat a ton of food & am dropping weight steadily with little effort & without ever having to stay hungry.

Find a diet recommend for T2D, follow it and see what happens. If you lower your sugar and carb intake it should follow that you lower your blood glucose. But ensure you track so you don't over or under medicate insulin.

I highly recommend the FB group Common Sense Keto to get specifics for numbers that will help heal and to lose weight. Many T2D folk on there getting great results. Just saw a post there of someone getting off meds after 18 yrs!

I have the same trouble. So I google whatever I can't find in the app. 🙂don't give up. You can do it.

Looking at your journal Sweetie, I see very high carbs. The other numbers look ok. So what I would suggest cut your carbs you don't have to go as drastic as I did (under 20) but drop them for a week and see what happens. Good luck!

Dryphytr are you trying to do low carbs or essentially just vegan? Have lost weight with low carb in past but am trying wfpb approach now and worried that will work due to carbs.

I am not sure what eating plan you are trying to follow, but just a quick glance at your diet calendar....I see a lot of high carb/simple carb food choices. Potatoes, pasta, chips, flour tortillas,regular pop/soda....these will all not only cause you to not reach for weight loss goals, but will spike your blood sugar.

DrCynthia - The plan I'm on generally calls for 80% carbs, & 10% each of fat & protein. It's the easiest plan I've ever been on. The only willpower needed is being willing to cook. Many people in the plant based FB group I'm in have lost over 100 pounds with ease. Many have also reversed their heart disease & cured their diabetes. My angina & chronic migraines are gone & my blood pressure has fallen like a rock. All of my pre-diabetes symptoms are completely gone. By the time I'm done, I'll be in the 100 pound group, too. The biggest problem I've had is eating enough. The recipes are huuuuuge!
