I finally got myself a new set of scales. I'm not happy with what it said. I don't feel like I've gained or lost. I feel like I've been holding steady which is ok for me. Then I got to thinking maybe my old scales were "broke" before it died and was not reading accurate. Oh well we'll start again with what this one says. I think it was around 175lbs. I'll have to weigh myself again. 😲 Now I need to incorporate more exercise. I was doing good for a while than life happened. Now I'm putting my life back on priority. Time to lose my "baby" fat. I'm just not going to tell anyone that my baby will be 16 yrs old next month!😄

I like to "calibrate" my scale with the doctor's office -- when one of us (say, even the kids) has an appointment, I have them weigh themselves here, clothed as they would be at the doctor's. Then I note the weight at the doctor's office, and add or sub as needed to bring my scale in line. So, for example, if my home scale were to weigh me 3 pounds less than at the doctor's, I just need to remember that my "real" weight is 3 pounds more. As I write this, though, I see how obsessive I am!! Haha. Oh, well. It's good to remember that there's a reason a home scale says, "Not legal for trade." They're just not accurate enough! So take it for what it is and put more stock in how you feel and how your clothes are fitting, than in what the actual "number" is. If you're doing the right thing, the numbers will eventually go down, regardless of the "starting" number. You can back it up with measurements, too -- measuring tapes don't often need to be replaced!! :)

Yes we should all calibrate the scales they can be knocked off balance by moving them... I use a 10 lb weight and weigh it on my scale it reads 10.2 on the scale...mine is up by .2 lbs... so I subtract that and I have an accurate weight for me;)

Better yet tape a quarter to the scale and put on the curb with a note attached saying, I'll pay you to take it. hahaha

😄😄 If it was left up to me Murf I agree with Maxie kick them to the curb. I won't weigh everyday but at least every 2 weeks. Thanks for the advice allinthistogether. I never thought about calibrating them.

I kick my scales all the time. Not to the curb, but till they tell me what I want to hear.
