Just a quick journal entry for me to look back on.It's a nice surprise when you find out you actually like exercising. I've always enjoyed walking and hiking but never considered it exercise...until now. When a person is 60lbs overweight hiking definitely feels like exercise. Exercise doesn't have to be in a gym. If you got out walking, enjoying nature, then it's exercise. If you dance, dance with a friend, dance in the rain...it's exercise. A bike ride along the river...no matter how peaceful it is is exercising. So, quit thinking it is something bad!

Very cool post...the important thing about exercise is doing it...and to be able to do it on a regular basis takes finding something that you enjoy doing and don't really think of as exercise...getting out for a round of golf (walking is better, but it is all moving/exercise), spending the afternoon playing in the pool, walking the dog, riding a bike...all works. But remember, exercise is a small part of weight loss...it is more for toning muscles and helping with circulation and other health issues...diet is the main factor in weight loss.
The system that I use(if you can call it that?) is to calculate a maintenance RDI for your goal weight and stick to that. It sounds very cliche, but eat less & move more is the actual key to healthy lifestyle...I'm finding that my weight loss has slowed, but I'm not following my own diet as closely as I was in the beginning...but a cheat day is no where near what it used to be either.
Part of learning to eat healthier is learning what each portion size is. I took a week of regular eating and just measured what I ate before putting it on my plate. I was amazed at how much I was eating (size of a 4oz cut of meat...it's quite small, so I was eating way more than I thought I was) I found that lean cuts of meat and vegetables were low enough calorie and filling enough that I could meet my goals...so far so good...I'm down 60lbs in the past year, but still have 30+ to go...
Anyway, I've ranted long enough...bet your sorry you put in a 'buddy request' now? Later.
